Personal Interests

Dr. Sarangi loves to travel and explore scenic nature walks and trails. She especially likes to visit old mansions and lighthouses and re-imagine how they were like in the bygone days. During summer she likes to do weekends on the beach and splash parks with her family.

Biography

Dr. Sarangi is from India where she completed her medical training and pediatric residency at Grant Medical College in Mumbai. She followed with a pediatric residency at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital in Long Island, NY. She went on to complete a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship from Cohen Children’s Medical Center, NSLIJ, NY. Her special expertise lies in the diagnosis and management of sickle cell disease and bleeding and clotting disorders in children. Dr. Sarangi is a board-certified pediatrician, a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a member of the American Society of Hematology and a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She resides in Centerville, Virginia with her husband and son. She is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, and Oriya. She loves to read and takes every opportunity to travel to warm, sandy beaches to catch the sun.
